Description

 Extremal critical collapse

Abstract: In this talk, I will describe a proof that extremal black holes arise on the black hole formation threshold in the Einstein-Maxwell-charged Vlasov model. This represents a new type of critical collapse that does not involve naked singularities. This is joint work with Christoph Kehle (ETH Zürich).
