Description

New Insights on Primordial Black Holes

Abstract: Dark matter can potentially be made of mini black holes in the asteroid mass range that formed in the early universe. The event horizon size of primordial black holes (PBHs) in the mass range of 6 × 10^{14} to 4 × 10^{19} grams match the sizes of nuclei to atoms. The lecture will discuss the resulting quantum-mechanical suppression in the accretion of matter by PBHs within gaseous astrophysical environments, as well as new constraints from the Solar System on PBHs as dark matter.
