Description

Predicting the Electromagnetic and Gravitational Wave Signatures of Massive Black Hole Binaries with AI Coding Agents

I will talk about prospects to jointly study massive black hole binaries in electromagnetic and gravitational waves (GWs), with upcoming observatories including LSST and LISA. I will argue that upcoming searches should target active galaxies exhibiting long-term trends in brightness or color, and show how such trends can be caused by the GW-driven orbital decay of an accreting binary black hole system. I will also discuss my experiences in leveraging AI to improve the fidelity of astrophysics software used in astrophysical simulation studies.
